Welcome to Dubdog.
My name is Nigel Ball and I have been undertaking graphic design commissions, producing self directed projects, and writing about design under the moniker Dubdog since 2002. I also lecture in graphic design at University Campus Suffolk, Ipswich. You can read a third person, academically worded profile of me here.
This site is predominantly a blog which contains observations, opinions and throwaway comments about art, graphic design, typography and music, as well as other personal interests. I also use it to post information about current projects, experiments and work in progress.
Alongside what you see here, I regularly take photographs of things I find interesting and post them on Flickr, and I sometimes experiment with moving image and post the results to Vimeo. I also use Delicious to record research interests.
You can find me on Facebook, although most of my virtual friends are also my flesh and blood friends, so please send a message with any request if I don't know you personally. I have a strict 'no current UCS student as friend' policy, but feel free to request away after graduating.
I have sung, played guitar, and hit bits of metal in various bands over the years. Three of these, White Slug (1989-1991), Bum Gravy (1991-1995) and Pindown (1999-2009), are showcased on the Antigen Records Facebook pages.
I am not on Twitter.
